Freelance Journalist, St. Louis Magazine & Others; January 2018 – Present ​

  • Contributed several articles to St. Louis Magazine and have had articles published in DELTA Sky Magazine, Across STL, HEC Media, and others

Freelance Copywriting, Marketing, Editing, and Ghostwriting; May 2019 – Present ​

  • Worked with STLMade, AllianceSTL, and Rise Collaborative Workspace on copywriting, marketing, ghostwriting, and editing assignments

Higher Education Channel (HEC-TV), St. Louis, MO – Special Projects and Programs Producer; May 2016 – January 2020

  • Produced and edited over 20 segments, and over 25 live shows and virtual events as well as partner programming; serve as the HEC Magazine editor; initiated our intern program and now recruit, hire, supervise and mentor up to three interns each semester (totaling nearly 20 interns); search for and apply for grants (earned nearly $47,000 for the station); assist with social media as well as other marketing and community partnership efforts. 

Illinois Public Media (WILL), Champaign-Urbana, IL – Producer; January 2015 – May 2016

  • Part of the launch team and a producer for The 21st, a statewide news/public affairs talk show.

  • Find and develop segment ideas, determine the best guests, ensure guests and host are prepared, write web copy, web page design, develop web and social media strategy, assist with directing and engineering

  • Before launching The 21st I:

    • Served as the content producer for Living With Cancer In Central Illinois: Diagnoses and Decisions on WILL-TV & WTVP-TV (http://bit.ly/1GSpd4k)

    • Produced numerous spots, features and interviews for local Morning Edition, Here & Now, All Things Considered and Weekend Edition

    • Produced and often hosted numerous hour-long specials for the 10:00 a.m. hour

    • Served on a search committee and on strategic planning committees

  • Served as local fill-in host for Weekend Edition, Here & Now and All Things Considered and recorded daily continuity breaks for weekday evenings

  • Served as pledge drive talent for both radio and TV drives and assisted with station events

Spotlight On St. Louis; December 2017 - Present

  • Spotlight On St. Louis is my side-project where I am working to build the city up and help tackle the inferiority complex many St. Louisans seem to have about our city. I'm covering the people, places, attractions, food, ideas, events etc. that make the city great, while not hesitating to also cover the issues St. Louis faces and highlight ways we can all come together to help solve those issues and make St. Louis better. SLU-TV, Student-Run Campus Television Station; August 2010 - May 2014

  • President; overall responsibility for station included developing and managing its $14,000 budget, recruiting, managing & motivating staff of 20, meeting with outside groups about station business & collaborations, and leading executive board meetings (2012-2013). Previously Administrative Vice-President; assisted with all duties above (2011-2012). News Director, Executive Producer of SLU NEWS 22 (weekly live newscast); managed staff, made final decisions on stories, graphics & anchors, edited script & supervised tech-work (2012-2014); and Executive Producer & Director, Mondays in Midtown (news-magazine show); assign, film, and edit segments, conduct interviews (2010–2014)
